Spring Training Away from Al Lang Field?

I read somewhere that the Rays are moving to Port Charlotte for Spring Training in 2009. Please, say it ain't so. Anyone have verification of this news?

Get me to the bleachers at Al Lang Field on any spring day. It is a beautiful setting for baseball.

Yes the D-Rays are coming to Port Charlotte starting spring 2009. The old Texas Ranger Stadium will be refurbished and the Rays will have a new Spring Training Home. WELCOME D-RAYS!

I was just there on a hot spring day. Sat behind home plate looking at the bay beyond left field. It was a gorgeous setting--but there were almost as many Red Sox fans as Rays fans!
