Where are the Royals headed?

With ownership that seems unwilling to put the right foot forward, but more than happy to fork out fifty-five million dollars to Gil Meche (ranked the twenty-second best starter in the AL last season by ESPN.com) you can only wonder if the Royals are falling deeper down the hole. If there are any Royals fans out there I would like to hear what you think.

I say spread the money around and fill in some of the holes on the field and in the batting order. This kind of deal depletes the Royals' ability to have a balanced lineup on both sides of the ball.
