Who makes too much today in major league baseball? Which players on your team are CHAMPS or CHUMPS?

I hate the money (of course,I'm not making it). Thats why I leave baseball and come back. Like a bad relationship. I can't stand players leaving teams for more money. Especially when I get attached to players. I also hate when rival ballplayers show up on my team (Mike Piazza). I loath that man.

I would love to go back in time to see a ball game and have a favorite team and the players CAN'T leave. I know I am selfish. I know why there is free agency now.

Well me and baseball are back together again. And if Barry Zito doesn't win 20 this year for that $126 mil then I'm divorcing baseball (yeah, right).

Atlanta picked up journeyman lefty Mark Redman to fill out their rotation after losing Mike Hampton for at least two months. This was a steal for under a million dollars for the season. He made the AL All Star team last year, for crying out loud. Regardless of his bloated ERA, he can soak up innings and help the Braves out.

If you think Barry Zito's $126 million deal was a big deal (well, I guess maybe it was), wait till Johan Santana becomes a free agent after 2008. We're talking about major big bucks for the best lefty in baseball. Santana is heads and shoulders better than Zito without resorting to a big, loopy curveball.

Photo: BOSTON - DECEMBER 14: Daisuke Matsuzaka looks on as Tak Sato translates for him during a press conference announcing that the pitcher has signed with the Boston Red Sox on December 14, 2006 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Matsuzaka will get $52 million over six years. (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images) Compared to other high-priced pitchers like Roger Clemens, Mike Mussina and Andy Pettite, the Red Sox' Daisuke Matsuzaka deal may not be so bad. It's definitely better than the $16 million Barry Bonds will make next year. I mean, Matsuzaka's base salary is a mere $6 million. Of course, Boston had to pay $51+ million to have the right to sign him in the first place. Still, the Sox' rotation now looks like one of the strongest in the bigs.
